Tenzin is very organized, disciplined and patient. You could see those qualities in the way she plans her preparation for her studies and executes them. She wants to become a doctor and is working hard on her subjects and is determined to do well.

Tenzin is from the village Zhung. It is a small village with only 10 to 12 houses. It is near a river. There was not a single shop in the village two years ago. Now they have one shop to purchase vegetables and supplies from.

Her hobbies include listening to music, reading story books, dancing, making bracelets and working with doctors in the clinic when they visit the community.

Tenzin writes: I want to become a doctor because the place where we live now is very isolated place, on top of that a hospital is too far away. That's why I plan to become a good doctor. I believe that most people don't like to go to hospital because who enjoys going to a hospital. It's a place where one sees sad, sick person and no one, maybe except for friends, parents, related to that person, would prefer to go and spend time in a place like this.

I like to study about diseases and knowing about them. At the same time I want to help people who are sick because we don't have enough doctors in Tawang.

Tenzin is very organized, disciplined and patient. You could see those qualities in the way she plans her preparation for her studies and executes them. Tenzin is a really thoughtful girl and always talks about wanting to help people by becoming a doctor. She is determined to do well.

Tenzin Drolma is not really into sports but she enjoys leadership roles and particularly thrives on stage. She is one of the best performers we have at Jhamtse Gatsal.

One of her teachers writes: In a meeting with 12th graders, I wanted a story to be told in the morning assembly. But there wasn’t enough time and story required some practice. It was to be told with a lot of expression and action. Tenzin was immediately interested but I was hesitant and was not sure if she would be able to pull it off. She was persistent. The next day morning, she told the story so wonderfully that it became the talk of the community for the next few days. Teachers mention that it was one of the most wonderful performances they have seen.
